u About the Webinar u

The high solubility and stability of synthetic pollutant compound in water make them of serious concern to the environment. Their treatment becomes even more difficult due to the resistance towards traditional techniques. The advanced oxidation process with modified Titanium oxide (TiO2) photocatalyst is taken into account here for the effective mineralization of nitrophenol (as a model of pollutant) under solar irradiation. During the photocatalysis process of TiO2, in which light (photon) is used to activate a substance, the photocatalyst, which modifies the rate of a chemical reaction without being involved itself in the chemical transformation. Initially, the TiO2 has been deposited with low band gap metal oxides such as Fe3O4, CuO2, ZnO2 and ZrO2 to overcome its limitation in the photogenerated charge and allow easy separation of the photocatalyst from the treatment process. An intermediate insulated layer of chitosan has been incorporated between these two metal oxides to prevent electron hole recombination and improve the adsorption capacity of the photocatalyst. The mineralization studies of nitrophenol will be carried out for the photocatalytic activities, kinetic reaction and degradation mechanism with the chemical structure interpretation and the characteristics of the UV Vis wavelength. The outcomes of this works has been described on the chemical, magnetic, physical and optical characteristics of ternary photocatalyst and its contribution for the mineralization of water pollutants compounds under various treatment parameters, which have been desirable for the green waste water treatment.
