On October 27th and 28th, 15 representatives from 2013-2014 SATU Steering Committee member schools have met in NCKU, Taiwan for the 2013 SATU Steering Committee Meeting. The Steering Committee examined the past achievements of SATU, explored possible themes for the SATU Presidents’ Forum 2014 and discussed the directions of SATU.

About the 2013 SATU Steering Committee Meeting 
This year, 15 representatives from 16 Steering Committee Member schools from 9 countries assembled at NCKU, where the secretariat of the forum is based. 

In the Steering Committee Meeting, the International Secretariat reported on the activities this year. The Steering Committee representatives exchanged their insights on topics pertaining to the Forum’s future development, including the implementation of SATU biennial membership fee, TCUS International Summer School, SATU Joint Research Scheme, and 2014 SATU Calendar. 

Keynote session for this year focused on Sustainable Eco Campus Initiatives. The two keynote speakers include Prof. Awangku Hassanal Bahar Pg Bagul, Director of the EcoCampus Management Centre at Universiti of Malaysia Sabah, who shared the experience of their EcoCampus® Initiative; and Prof. Ching-Chang Lee, Director of NCKU Center for Environmental Protection, Safety and Health, who shared the idea of Green Campus. The concept of Moocs (Massive Open Online Courses), and how it is applicable in thisregion, was also one of the focal points of the meeting.
