Today one of the most notable attributes of the internationalization of Higher Education Institutions has always been the impact of international student mobility. The students' involvement in international mobility programs can enhance graduate attributes that are highly valued by future employers. It may also develop 21st-century skills such as collaborative work, intercultural competence, communication and critical thinking skills, and digital literacy that further strengthen students’ employability and potential for success. The global pandemic has challenged HEIs to reconceptualize physical student mobility. Alternative forms of mobility are being introduced by the HEIs across the world via virtual or hybrid mode.
The panel will discuss the students’ perspective and experience of studying and undergoing an international student mobility program via both the physical and virtual platforms. The discussion will focus on the benefits, issues, and challenges when undergoing student mobility and also how attending international student mobility to either Malaysia or Japan has impacted their life.
